10 Things To Do in Northern Colorado This Fall

Fall in Northern Colorado is one of the most highly anticipated times of the year. Whether you want to watch the leaves change colors, go to fall festivals, or celebrate the holidays, Northern Colorado has it all.  The staff at Five Tables has compiled a list of their favorite activities to enjoy this fall around our neck of the woods.

1. Harvest Farm Fall Festival, Fort Collins 

Harvest Farm will be hosting their 16th Annual Fall Festival & Corn Maze this month. This festival is a long-time local favorite and has every fall event you could imagine, including wagon rides, pig races, bonfires, a petting zoo and so much more.

When: Every weekend from 10 AM-8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and from 12-6PM on Sundays until October 28th.

2. Benson Sculpture Garden, Loveland

Watching the leaves change from green to shades of red, orange and yellow is a Colorado tradition. Benson Sculpture Garden is a ten acre park in Loveland that features over 150 unique sculptures. People flock to the park every year to look at works of art and watch the leaves change colors. If you’re looking for a spot that will get you in the fall spirit, look no further.

3. The Lyric’s Outdoor Horror Movie Nights, Fort Collins

This year, the Lyric Cinema will be hosting a horror movie series on their new outdoor screen. For the entire month of October, the theatre will be screening a different horror movie every Friday night at sundown. The lineup includes genre classics such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, and The Shining. Grab your popcorn and some friends and get ready for some spooky flicks!

4. Holiday Lighting Ceremony, Fort Collins 

One of the most spectacular places to look at holiday lights is in Old Town Fort Collins. Every year, locals gather in the Oak Street Plaza to watch the streets of Old Town become illuminated by thousands of lights. This year, the annual lighting ceremony will be held on Friday, November 2nd. This event is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

5. The Shining Ball, Estes Park 

The Stanley Hotel is one of the most famous fall attractions in Northern Colorado because of its creepy connections to a certain Stephen King film. The Ball features theatre characters from The Shining, a 1920’s themed jazz lounge, ballroom dancing, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres for all guests.

6. Jack Lantern’s Northern Colorado Maze, Fort Collins 

Whether you’re in the mood for some classic fall fun or some spooky entertainment, the Northern Colorado Maze has been a must-visit spot for the past sixteen years. From 11 AM to dusk you can explore the 35 acre corn maze, visit the pumpkin patch, see the variety of farm animals on the property, or take a tour of the 90+ acre farm. From dusk to close, the brave can enter the haunted corn maze or take a haunted hay ride.

7. Halloween Family Fun Festival, Loveland

The 17th Annual Halloween Family Fun Festival will be held Saturday, October 27th from 10 AM-2PM at Peters Park. Bring your little ones to enjoy trick-or-treating, a costume contest and other family-friendly activities.

8. Downtown Loveland Zombie Bar Crawl, Loveland 

Zombies will fill the streets of downtown Loveland on Saturday, October 20th as they make their way to participating bars in the area. The crawl starts at 3:30 PM and ends at Loveland Aleworks. The bars of Loveland will be offering drink specials and will be crawling with the undead.

9. Painting with Studio Vino at desk chair Workspace

Paint the colors of fall at desk chair Workspace! Admission includes one drink of your choice and shared appetizers. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. Must be 21 or over. Register here.

10. The Pumpkin Plunge

Decorating pumpkins is one of the most fun family activities during the fall. The Windsor Community Recreation Center is holding a Pumpkin Plunge on October 26th this year. Children from ages 2-12 can plunge into a swimming pool full of floating pumpkins and pick their favorite one to decorate. Music and a movie will play during pumpkin decorating. The event will take place from 6-8PM.
